The International AutoModified (IAM) Show in Anaheim, California, brought together car enthusiasts, stunning builds, and a vibrant automotive community from across the country. Making its U.S. debut in 2024, the IAM Show is known for showcasing the best in custom car culture, and R1 Concepts was there to experience the excitement firsthand.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting Zack Tabonda, one of our R1 Concepts ambassadors, who traveled from Hawaii to showcase his incredible wide-body Mitsubishi Evo 8. Zack’s Evo 8 is equipped with our R1 Concepts Big Brake Kit in anodized red with black lettering, featuring a 6-piston front and 4-piston rear setup. His build, featuring a wide-body Voltex kit, custom interior, and precision detailing, drew plenty of attention from showgoers.
Zack walked us through his modifications, including his custom red half-cage and seat delete by Backyards Projects, along with a Voltex collaboration for the wide-body kit. It’s clear that Zack’s passion for his build goes beyond aesthetics—every modification is thoughtfully curated for performance and style.
In addition to individual showcases, the event featured award categories celebrating some of the most remarkable cars of the day. From a first-place win for a stunning Nissan R35 to the Best EV award going to an R32, the competition was tough, but the camaraderie among participants was even stronger.
The IAM Show is more than just a car event; it’s a celebration of creativity, innovation, and automotive passion. For R1 Concepts, it was an honor to connect with the community and see our products enhancing these standout builds.
Thank you to everyone who came out, and a special shoutout to Zack Tabonda for representing R1 Concepts so well. Be sure to check out more event coverage as we continue to support builds that push the boundaries of performance and design.
